Protein balls- For toddlers at snack time

Lately we have been having a bit of a struggle in the food department with Harris. I guess he’s at that fussy age, where everything he wants to eat just now is beige, and lacking in any real nutritional value. Basically, he would live on chips and crisps all day if he could, and although sometimes it can be easier to keep him happy by giving him what he wants, it’s not the kind of unbalanced diet that I want to promote at this stage in his life. 

Anyway, I was really inspired by some of your advice on Instagram and I decided to make some little protein balls which are full of goodness. Here’s the recipe as requested! 


• 1/3 cup toasted almonds 

• 1/3 cup Pecan nuts 

• 3 tbsp desiccated coconut 

• 1 cup of dates (stones removed) 

• 2 tbsp soy milk 

• sweeten with a dollop of either honey or maple syrup (optional as I think the dates make them sweet enough) 


Mix all ingredients in a food processor and roll into balls, et voila! (Sprinkles added for fun)

Harris and I were both fans! I also noticed that there’s lots of recipes for chocolate/ peanut butter protein balls online. They will definitely be next on my hit list.
